Fix candidates — your 2026-07-23 feedback
Nothing here has been picked yet — these are candidates to compare, not a claim that any of them is correct. I can't listen to audio myself, so please pick whichever sounds right (or none, if all are wrong) and let me know.
1. Pip's voice — currently the same actor as Maya (Daniela)
Confirmed in the generation logs: both used voice ID 8tm9IYjg8ybDoxe8w6Rk (Daniela) — not a bug, just the only es-MX voice the pipeline had. Candidate: reuse Christopher (English Pip's own voice) via the multilingual model, so Pip gets a genuinely different actor from Maya.
2. Letter S — "Sss." (was validated in the earlier Phase 2 diagnostic)
S was one of only 4 sounds (M/S/L/N) actually confirmed by native-speaker review before. If this retry still sounds wrong, it's likely take-to-take inconsistency rather than the text strategy itself.
3. Letter F — "Fff." (never validated — Phase 2 only tested M/S/L/N)
Candidate: the Spanish letter name "efe" instead of bare elongation.
4. Letter R — "Rrr." (Phase 2 explicitly deferred r/rr as dialect-sensitive/higher-risk and never tested it)
Candidates: the Spanish letter names "erre" (trilled r, as in carro/perro — probably the right one for this word-initial-trill family) and "ere" (the weaker tap allophone, included for comparison).
5. Letter J — "Jjj." (Phase 2 explicitly deferred j as dialect-sensitive and never tested it)
Bare "j" risks the model reading the English J sound (as in "jump"), completely wrong for Spanish /x/. Candidate: the Spanish letter name "jota".
6. Letter Y/LL (yeísmo) — "Yyy." (Phase 2 explicitly deferred y/ll as dialect-sensitive and never tested it)
Candidates: the Spanish letter name "ye", and "Yih" — your own proposal from the Phase 2 diagnostic for this exact yeísmo sound, originally suggested for a different clip (the plain L sound) where it was correctly rejected as wrong for that letter. This is the first time it's actually being tested on the y/ll family it describes.
7. Letter B — "Be." sounding like English "bee" instead of Spanish "be"
"Be" is also a common English word (pronounced "bee") — the multilingual model likely read it as English. Candidates: "Beh" and "Bé" (accented), both meant to break that collision.
